The purpose of knowledge pathways is to provide access to information in a logical sequence from general to specific and back again  by topic as starting points for research.

Current pathways include government & law, heath sciences, mapping, news, Rhode Island cities & towns, and science & technology.  Major topical headings for OSL also include Rhode Island Academic Libraries, Public Libraries, School Libraries, Historical Societies and Museums. Those topics are being treated comprehensively, rather than as pathway starting points for research.
