Knowledge pathways include: government & law, health sciences, historical societies, government and private archives, databases (in the broadest interpretation), libraries and museums, mapping, news, Rhode Island cities and towns, and various iterations of search.

The central focus of OceanStateLibrarian.com is information resources located in Rhode Island, USA with knowledge pathways leading to and from there.

Databases will be bound to the portal as they are developed. Special attention will be given to providing end users with the guidance needed to effectively navigate the knowledge pathways.
