Town of Westerly

History:

The original Native American name for area now known as the Town of Westerly was Misquamicut. The Town of Westerly was incorporated May, 1669 under the name of Westerly, as the fifth town in the Colony. The name of Westerly was changed to Haversham, June 23, 1686, but was soon restored.
